went over “The Wind . . .” & “Metaphor” handout. In lit. books, discussed lyric poetry (p. 855) and analyzed the lyric poem “The Guitar” (p. 856). Also, discussed a sonnet (p. 865) and analyzed “Sonnet 18″ (p. 866).

read Ch. 18 & 19 of The Golden Compass

took The Golden Compass Part Two test.

Gave students “We Wear the Mask” handout and listened to the audio version of the poem. Then, we answered the response questions in class. Last, I assigned the Mask poem.
